The creation or appreciation of art is used to help people explore emotions, develop self-awareness, cope with stress, boost self-esteem, and build connections.

  • A grounding session is a therapeutic practice that uses simple, intentional activities to reconnect you with the earth and bring your attention into the present moment. It’s a gentle, practical way to reduce stress, calm anxiety, and soothe overwhelming feelings by engaging your senses and body rather than getting stuck in racing thoughts.

    What grounding does

    • Shifts focus from distressing thoughts and future worries to immediate sensory experience.

    • Lowers physiological arousal (heart rate, breath) and activates your nervous system’s safety responses.

    • Restores a sense of stability, control, and connection—both to your body and the world around you.

  • Bodywork and energy work address structural imbalances, circulation problems, trauma, and stress. Traditional massage is a key subset of these approaches, but the broader category also includes modalities that focus on subtle energy systems, fascial release, craniosacral therapy, myofascial release, Rolfing, and somatic practices.

Dance/movement therapy (DMT) emphasizes that nonverbal communication and bodily movement are our most primal ways of relating to ourselves and others. Using movement intentionally can soothe the nervous system, regulate emotion, and anchor us in the present moment.

    • Body awareness and grounding: Gentle, attentive movement helps people reconnect with bodily sensations—heartbeat, breath, muscle tone—providing an anchor when feelings feel overwhelming. This bottom-up access to emotion often bypasses overactive cognitive rumination and allows regulated experience of feelings.

    • Expression without words: Movement offers a safe channel for emotions that are hard to name. Anger, grief, joy, and fear can be expressed, modulated, and transformed through posture, gesture, and rhythm.

    • Co-regulation and social connection: Mirroring and rhythmic movement with others fosters trust and a sense of belonging. Shared movement can soothe stress responses and build emotional attunement.

    • Release and resilience: Repetitive or release-focused movements (like shaking, stretching, or expressive improvisation) can discharge accumulated tension and help people recover more quickly from stressors.

  • Art therapy classes cover a broad spectrum, from short wellness workshops focused on stress relief to sessions that build general art skills like painting and pottery, up to formal master’s-level programs for those pursuing a professional arts career. They can be structured to support mental health, foster creativity, teach techniques, or combine therapeutic practice with clinical training depending on participants’ goals. Key types include:

    • Wellness and community workshops: brief, low-cost classes emphasizing relaxation, social connection, and accessible creative expression.

    • Skill-building art classes: multi-week courses teaching techniques (painting, ceramics, drawing) that may be used for self-care or creative development.

  • Aura cleansing is the process of clearing, balancing, and revitalizing the subtle energy field that surrounds a person — often called the aura. Practitioners believe the aura can accumulate stress, emotional residue, and energetic imbalances from daily life, relationships, and environments. General Policies

  • Please read each session description and follow individual sessions/class/workshop registration instructions.

  • Pre-registration: Because seating is limited and materials must be prepared in advance, most of our ​Sessions or Creative Workshops require reservations at least 24 - 48 hours in advance.  Some sessions and classes sell out -- so it's first come-first served.

  • ​​Payment required: Registration is not considered complete until payment is received.

  • All skill levels welcome: Unless otherwise noted, our experienced facilitators and wellness coaches take clients of all skill levels and meet you where you are – beginner to advanced.

  • Join anytime: Weekly classes/sessions can be joined throughout the year.

  • TRY IT, you might like it: Many weekly classes/sessions offer a “TRY IT” class (pay for one class).  Multi-week bundles, if offered, will save you money.

  • Save money: Note that, while not required,  joining as a Member  will save you money on many of our sessions and classes plus offers other benefits as well.

  • ​Supply fees:  if there is a supply fee, please pay that amount in cash directly to the instructor at the time of class/session.

  • Bad weather: Please check local radio or TV stations for updates.  We will update Instagram/Facebook/TikTok if we are closed, if possible.
